Wood Carving Zodiac Short Scroll Hanger Set Handmade Embroidery With Original Box One-of-a-Kind Folk Craft

This is a set of wood carving and embroidery works by my grandmother, who ran her own wood carving and embroidery classes from home.

The main body of the hanging scroll stand is a wood carving with a three-dimensional grape motif, and everything, including the wooden storage box, is handmade by my grandmother. The included zodiac scrolls are also handmade one by one, giving them a warmth and quiet presence that mass-produced items lack. The wooden storage box can hold 3-4 scrolls. The remaining scrolls were stored in a paper box, which is also included.

It is believed to have been made in the late Showa to early Heisei period. These are works by my grandmother, who was in a teaching position running her classes.

These are no longer produced, and as such, this is a one-of-a-kind item that will not be replicated.

As these are old works, there are changes in the wood grain due to age, but there is no major damage, and they are in a condition suitable for both display and use. Please check the photos.

We hope to pass these on to someone who values the beauty of handmade crafts, the sense of Japanese seasons, and folk art aesthetics. They can also be used as decorations in Japanese-style rooms or alcoves.

We have adjusted the price with the hope of delivering this to someone who feels a connection to it.
